The 2007 incentive trip to Cappadocia
In 2007 our team was called to design and execute an original incentive trip for a group of magazine editors, in order to launch and promote a new product. Utilizing the product's slogan, our team came up with a concept and a destination to match it, designing a truly unique trip to the depths of Turkey.
The customer:
A Greek subsidiary of a large multinational cosmetics and healthcare product company
The need:
Design and conduct of an incentive trip for the editors of magazines, with the aim to present and promote a new company product.
The project:
The design team of C&C International Group of Companies considered two parameters in order to design the incentive's core idea (concept):
- The product's basic competitive advantage (it offers skin oxygenation)
- The properties of the target group (editors specializing in luxury brands)
A trip to Cappadocia was, hence, organized, which presented participants with the opportunity to enjoy the luxury hospitality of the East, the highlight being a unique flight with a hot air balloon over the area's impressive landscape at dawn.
The four day program comprised accommodation in luxury suites, visits to Cappadocia's underground cities and other sites, attendance to the evening "sema", the ceremony of the dervishes, a guided tour in Istanbul, meals in carefully selected restaurants and, of course, the presentation of the product.
More specifically, C&C Corporate Travel Club:
- Designed the trip's core idea (concept)
- Selected a series of excursions and suggested the most suitable ones with regard to the trip's goal and audience
- Undertook hotel bookings, ticket issuing and transportation
- Organized a detailed trip program
- Selected the restaurants and menus
- Inspected the selected restaurants a few days prior to the arrival of the travelers and proceeded with the reservation of specific tables
- Organized the presentation of the product
- Set up an insurance plan for those travelers who participated in the balloon flight
- Created and sent out a special teaser to the participants in order to prepare them for what was to be expected prior to announcing specific details of the trip
- Engaged in the production of all accompanying printed material (program, information brochures concerning the destination and activities, suitcase tags etc)
- Provided the travelers with an experienced escort, who traveled with them from Athens, as well as with a Greek speaking guide
The result:
The trip undoubtedly constituted a unique experience for all those who took part, and both the customer and the travelers were fully satisfied.
The travelers were especially impressed by the evening with the dervishes, the underground cities and, last but not least, by the balloon flight.The presentation of the product to the editors was crowned with success and the product was featured in their columns soon after.
