Excellence in Paediatrics with the participation of Harvard Medical School

The Harvard Medical School and Children's Hospital Boston are organizing two sessions in the context of the Scientific Programme of Excellence in Paediatrics.

A round table and an interactive case study under the theme Orthopedics, Emergency and Trauma will be delivered in Florence with the participation of three scholars from Harvard Medical School and one from the University of Florence.

 

"Excellence in Paediatrics" is an annual international conference aiming to present the latest, most authoritative overview of key developments in paediatrics.

 

Conference Highlights:

 

  • Excellence in content: A stellar Scientific Committee comprised of the editors of 15 internationally acclaimed paediatric journals and books published by Wiley-Blackwell has selected the cutting-edge topics to be included in the scientific programme.
  • Excellence in speakers: Over 80 internationally renowned speakers from paediatric centres of excellence from 20 countries have already confirmed their participation.
  • Excellence in delivery: The scientific programme is comprised of more than 75 exciting sessions (lectures, round tables, debates, interactive and meet-the-experts sessions). In addition, a series of interactive workshops has been developed to address key practice topics.
  • The Book of Abstracts will be published as a supplement to the journal Child: Care, Health and Development.
  • The Harvard Medical School & Children's Hospital Boston are organising two sessions in the context of the Scientific Programme of Excellence in Paediatrics: A round table and an interactive case study.
  • Two significant announcements on Influenza Pandemic and the Environment and Child will be made during the conference following closed meetings among CDC, WHO and the EU with presidents from national and regional paediatric societies.
  • The European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) is presenting in a special session recent updates on liver disease.
  • The European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID) is organising a session in the context of Excellence in Paediatrics.
  • The conference is hosted by the Meyer Children's Hospital in Florence.
  • The Cochrane Child Health Field and the European Paediatric Association are co-organising the special event "Evidence Based Medicine and Child Nutrition" on the eve of the conference (Thursday 3 December 2009).
