Pan- Hellenic Conference on Pandemic of the new Flu A (H1N1) and the Policies for the Defense of Public Health
CIP, the strategy and communication branch of CnC International, organized, communicated and promoted the Conference held for the new flu A (H1N1). Doctors, scientists, technocrats and key opinion leaders attended the conference offering exceptional information and knowledge to the attendees.
The event
The National School of Public Health and the Center for the Control and Prevention of Diseases organized a Pan-Hellenic 2-day Conference on the 7th and the 8th of September 2009, entitled: Pan- Hellenic Conference on Pandemic of the new Flu A (H1N1) and the Policies for the Defense of Public Health. The Conference was held under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity.

The interest of the Conference was that it included the biological and epidemical aspects as well as the social aspect of the new flu. Given the crucial interest on the issues concerning theH1N1 influenza, the Conference tried to extend the knowledge on the new pandemic as well as to discuss extensively the possible evolution of the flu and all the important aspects in depth. During the Conference issues such as prime care, hospital care, vaccine against the flu, school needs, measures for working places and topics concerning social questions, like the role of media, economic and social repercussions, the function of administrative institutions and public health, the management of the pandemic and the civilians' contribution were raised. The congresses that took place during the Conference included topics on these issues, which were developed by notable professors, doctors, academics, politicians and technocrats.

The participation of significant scientists added noteworthy importance to the conference and raised great interest of the general public as well as the media. The success of the conference was unique. More than 2500 participants attended the conference. The publicity of the conference was more than average, since it was launched in several publications and in reportages and references on TV and Radio as well.
