14th WORLD CONGRESS ON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (WCIT)
The 14th World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT 2004) "The Future is Now", held in Greece from 19th to the 21st of May 2004 in the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre, was attended by 2.000 participants and attracted leading ICT (Information and Communications Technologies) personalities, top corporate executives, distinguished academic professors and researchers, government officials and policy makers from all over the world, whose interaction and decisions shape the future of the ICT world.
The WCIT 2004 was organized by the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) and hosted by the Federation of Hellenic Information Technology & Communication Enterprises. C&C International was appointed as the Official Congress Organiser.
Both Greek and foreign delegates characterized WCIT 2004 as one of the most successful World Congresses that has ever been held. Apart from the absolute organizational success, the participation of eminent speakers and delegates from all over the globe was equally important.
For three days, Athens was the capital of international ICT and Greece had the opportunity to showcase its technology and innovation to an audience of delegates from more than 67 countries.
Innovative ideas, rich and stimulating debate, pre-eminent leaders and deep insight into the future of the global information economy were some of the WCIT 2004 highlights.
Participants were impressed by an imaginative congress party during which IT milestones were presented on stage followed by the musical and dance trends of the corresponding period. And all this happened in the middle of the National Garden with the fascinating neoclassical Zappeion building in the background.
